The Sheep Gate Ministry officially began in September of 2001, but the seeds of it go back many years, even into my childhood.

I was born in 1945 in Glendale, California, and raised a Catholic.  Although I was never really what might be considered a good practicing Catholic, I attended Catholic grade school where the nuns taught me about God (thank You, Jesus!).  When I was 6-years old, Jesus called me unto Himself in a singular way.  It was a rainy day, as I sat on the floor before our three-sided bay window in my home in San Gabriel, California.  Looking out on the gray, wet day, I became immersed in the Spirit of God and was gently swept into the spiritual realm.  How long this experience lasted, I don’t know, and further words are inadequate to describe it, especially through a 6-year old child’s heart and mind.  But God had me in a timeless eternal place in Him.  From the time that I received this experience (vision?), and for the next 26 years, I progressively entered more and more into gross sinfulness.  Then, in 1977, at the age of 32, I received Jesus as my Savior and Lord.

About three months before I accepted Jesus into my life, I was laying awake in bed one evening when God opened a vision to me.  I could “see” two figures behind me.  One of the figures, back over my left shoulder, was cloaked in darkness and three times he menacingly hissed, “He’s mine!”  The other figure back over my right shoulder, Who was in the light, stood with His arms folded in front of Him.  All three times, without words, He simply responded with a slow negative shake of His head.  Then the vision ended.  I knew the Figure in the Light was Jesus.

For the next twenty years, God placed me in the positions of either pastoring or co-pastoring home churches.  Along the way, I worked as a missionary with Mission Portland (Oregon), located at Multnomah School of the Bible, while simultaneously working at House of Hope, a Christian benevolence ministry that supplied food and clothing to approximately 700 individuals per month.  After four years, I left Mission Portland to manage House of Hope full time.

Around this time, while on a three-day fast, Jesus gave me a detailed vision of the Sheep Gate in Jerusalem’s north wall, though I had never been there.  This led, in 2001, to God’s creation of this Sheep Gate Ministry.  From the genesis of the Sheep Gate Ministry, I began dealing primarily with teaching and guiding people into an intimate and personal relationship with Jesus.  

Today, my calling and mandate from God extends to coming into union with Jesus and the Father and being transformed/changed into Jesus’ image (2 Cor. 3:18; 1 Cor. 6:17; 2 Pet. 1:4).  To fulfill this calling, I write two monthly international newsletters—The Sheep Gate Letter and the Through the Gates Letter.  In addition, I offer counselling and mentoring in Christ, helping free souls that they might enter into an abiding relationship with Jesus.

Up to the present (2023), my “five-fold” calling from God has been that of a prophetic teacher to the Body of Christ.  Thus, I have majored in teaching, while minoring in the prophetic.  In the past few years, though, God has been moving me more strongly into the prophetic realm.
